Bryce Dallas Howard Does Wear Heels In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

In terms of commercial performance, Jurassic World was a box office success, making over $1.6 billion and becoming the second highest-grossing movie of 2015 worldwide, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens ranking at #1. Critically, Jurassic World received a decent amount of positive reviews, but it also didn't walk away without catching flack. One of the criticisms that was directed towards the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park film series was how Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing was wearing high heels the entire time she was dealing with the prehistoric craziness. For Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Claire won't have to worry about donning such uncomfortable footwear during the movie's more hectic moments, but don't think that means she'll be ditching the heels entirely.

Back when Jurassic World arrived on home media, Bryce Dallas Howard mentioned that for the sequel, heels would not be a source of controversy again. This past January, it was clarified that Claire would not run around in heels during Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but that's only where Isla Nublar is concerned. Howard still wanted to wear such shoes during the calmer parts of the movie because they stayed true to her character. As the actress told EW:

I wanted it to be clear from the beginning that Claire has changed and she's wearing heels still. A person can have an inner journey and still love heels! And, yes, she's prepared to go to the island and she's wearing boots.

So there you have it! Rather than repeat "heel-gate," Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom wisely had Claire Dearing wear durable boots for the scenes where she has to outrun dinosaurs. When she doesn't have to worry about these prehistoric creatures trying to kill her, heels will be the shoes of choice what I'm guessing are meeting scenes set in fancy boardrooms and offices. It's all about putting on the proper footwear for the right occasion.

Taking place four years after the events of Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sees Claire reuniting with Chris Pratt's Owen Grady as they had to Isla Nublar to rescue as many dinosaurs as possible before a volcano erupts and lays waste to the entire island. However, the action doesn't end there, because once back on the mainland, Claire, Owen and their allies have to save the surviving dinosaurs from being auctioned off, and things grow even more complicated when the Indoraptor breaks loose. In addition to Howard and Pratt reprising their respective roles, B.D. Wong and Jeff Goldblum are back as Dr. Henry Wu and Dr. Ian Malcolm, respectively, while the sequel's new players include Justice Smith's Franklin Webb, Daniella Pineda's Zia Rodriguez, James Cromwell's Benjamin Lockwood, Ted Levine's Ken Wheatley and Rafe Spall's Eli Mills, with Geraldine Chaplin and Toby Jones in undisclosed roles.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom rampages into theaters on June 22. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for more news about the movie, and for those of you wanting to plan your trips to the theater this year accordingly, look through our 2018 release schedule.
